basilmemories: (Yay corpses!)
I have indeed discovered what frustrates me about having to wait to get a laptop.

I think it’s that fact that I can, and have, made my own desktop PC’s… and yes they did end up costing more then a pre-made machine, but I have what I want inside, and I feel _proud_ about my little god-complex baby. With the laptop? I can only find pre-made ones (or diy ones for more then I have before any of the parts go in) and most of my online browsing consists of me saying, “ick, don’t want that, or that, or HELL not that- fuck isn’t there a decent-priced laptop that doesn’t have a shitty graphics card?”

Here’s what I want:

-A processor speed of 1.6-1.8 gigahertz.
-DVD drive.
-256-512 megabytes of memory.
-20-40 gigabytes of hard drive space.
-Wireless card.
-Modem.
-Lan card while I’m wishing for things.
-A graphics card that DOESN’T SUCK. (a.k.a. pretty much anything that’s not integrated will be fine thanks)
-USB port for the mouse.

And for a price tag under $1100. (in the 400-650 range would be GOLDEN, but I’m a realist.)

Now is that so damn hard? Those are relatively mid-range features and most of them come standard, so WHY can’t I get something that’s in a good price range? So far my only option that I have is Al coming by and taking me to weird stuff for used parts, and even then I have to take off a day to do it.

Argh, world? Start making sense NOW.
